Yay Sound!
Let's step back from the super sexy visuals and talk about the very seductive sound. We had a very successful meeting with Jeff and Janet our sound people. There was some talk about trumpets, backpacks, chainsaws, tomatoes, vaseline and glasses of milk?!?! Basically this movie is going to sound as great as it looks. So we have Jeff and Janet splitting the sound effects... and Jeff making a great mix out of his very own closet (it's a very nice looking closet). On the electronic side we have our composer Al working on some great video game music. Yay Titan Sting!

a question of ethics.
Ok, i admit. we took it a bit far here. Ya I actually am in quite a bit of disgust when i realize what is really going on with this image. It offends me.
and getting offended is something that seems to offend others. As if they dont want us to be offended by them, but what is really goin on is a discussion of ethics, morals, ideologies.
ah yes ideologies. that is why i like to be offended and i reserve the right to offend myself in order to prevent myself from becoming numb to the world.
A meat stuffed bear. thats what humanity is really like sometimes..you think he;s so sweet and cuddly and innocent, so much in fact that you sleep with him everynight. Little do you know, that inside him he is nothing but flesh and clay. And everyday that goes by, he seems to stink a little more.
And i should also note, you can probably buy so much security in the same store. But we went to albertsons cuz the thrift store doesnt sell used meat.
and no one had any live worms available this time of year. Big five is the shitiest store in Santa Barbara.
i should also note again. one last times. I wanted to feed the bear to racoons so the meat wouldnt go to waste.
that also offended me.

production is now on a roll!!!
after all the dilly dallying i.e. making set/characters that we're not gunna use, we have finally settled on what look works the best!
just to bring everyone up to speed with our slow progess, we, I, had started this project wanting our sets and characters to look like stufft figures, fabrics, cloth, felt...all that..a real unique look that somehow would not work with the designs we ended up getting from a certain Simon Estrada, character designer.
Upon seeing his designs i decided that we had to get his look in the film. but how? well, after looking at the option of just using cutouts, i wanted to try something using a material called foamie. Its a thin colored sheet of foam that looks awesome, and it is posable, so long as there are wires behind them, or glued inside folded pieces, this is how we made early arms.
after a few tests, i thought it looked good and it would work, so i planned on converting all of Estradas drawings into foamie characters. This process took SOOOOO long, and i spent weeks making characters, mostly sean connery, our suporting character. Facial expressions are a whole other story with this method and it was proving to be a bit too much work.
But i pressed on, until one day, i realized that if i was going to convert all of the mackenzies into foamy, that our film would never get finished. like.....NEVER.
So i made a choice 3 nights ago after a couple of tests...NO MORE FOAMIES!!!!
Why? TOO MUCH WASTED TIME! so instead i have gone back to Estradas orginal artwork, colored, printed and cut it out. and it looks AWESOME!.
I added another artist by the name Stephanie Cheung, who I contacted after seeing 2 of her drawings, i knew her style would work seemlessly with Estradas. So bringing her on the team has doubled production. and the results are gorgeous.
GO TITAN STINGERS!!!! YYEEEOOOWO!! sorry. that was lame.

Meat Test
So I went out and bought meat today. Mark animated it. We really got a feel for what we are going to be able to accomplish with the meat. This clip is off of the lunchbox which means the quality is a bit lower but the idea is still there. We also have to prepare the meat next time... this is all bloody and it smelled pretty bad to some. Anyways it was fun. Thanks to everyone who helped out today. Soon we will be putting up some cool photos of Mackenzie and Cuff in their real forms for everyone to enjoy.
